Wedding & Events Video
Q: Why should I spend good money on a professional production when I can just have a family member with his/her new camcorder do it for free?

A: At Action Video, our videographers have the training, experience, and professional quality equipment to ensure that your wedding or event is captured properly. Remember this is a one-take event. An amateur videographer will be faced with difficult lighting situations or low audio. Few amateurs have the experience or equipment to handle the unexpected. Trust your video coverage to a professional.

In addition, one of the most important parts of a professional wedding and event video is the post-production work. Our editing artist transforms the raw footage into an elegant video keepsake. With your choice of music and titling, we create a video that is truly enjoyable to watch for years to come.

Q: Will you use wireless microphones?

A: Yes. Sound is just as vital as the pictures we record. A wireless microphone is used at all weddings where allowed.

Q: Do I need multiple camera coverage?

A: At Action Video we offer both One Camera and Two Camera Packages. We recommend our two camera packages for large ceremonies and large bridal parties.

Using two cameras provides an additional viewpoint, which allows the editor to cut to different camera angles.

Q: Aren't all wedding videos the same? Shouldn't I seek the lowest bid?

A: No. Seeking the lowest bid can ultimately compromise the quality and refinement of your wedding video. You should work within your budget but still use a high quality production house. Action Video provides brides and grooms professional quality wedding videos at an affordable price.

Q: What should I ask prospective wedding videographers?

A: The first question most clients have is how much. When you find a videographer in your price range, there are a few others questions you should also ask.

Ask what type of camera they will use for your event. At Action Video, we use a professional grade, 3-chip digital camera. Some videographers still use SVHS cameras. We recommend digital.

Ask if there are time limits on the video packages. At Action Video we do not have time limits on any of our wedding video packages.

Ask what format your video will be produced in (DVD, VHS), how many copies are included, and how much are additional copies? At Action Video we include 1 DVD and 3 VHS copies. Additional VHS copies are $25 and additional DVD’s are $50.

Ask how much a deposit is and when is the final payment due. Also ask for a completion date and an approximate length of the video.

Q: What should I look for in example videos?

A: You should be mindful of overall picture quality, including sharpness and color. Also look for high quality audio and overall professionalism in the video shots, editing, post production and packaging. Request a demo video; and if you like what you see, go into their studio and review an actual wedding video that was provided to their clients. Demo videos are often a videographer’s best work. It is important for you to review what a bride and groom will receive.

Q: Should the videographer attend the rehearsal?

A: At Action Video the videographer always attends the rehearsal. Attending the rehearsal allows us to be prepared for your event. It allows us to meet family members and also lets us familiarize ourselves with the event setting. The majority of church facilities have restrictions. It is important for us to know and recognize those restrictions. We at Action Video take the time to introduce ourselves to church officials. We find that taking that extra step welcomes us into their facility.

Q: Isn't videotaping intrusive -- all those cables and stands, etc...?

A: At Action Video we have very small, lightweight cameras and equipment that run on powerful long-lasting batteries. We use wireless microphones to minimize cable clutter and carry only the items required for the video. There is truly very minimal equipment brought to the site.

Q: What is the average length of a wedding video?

A: This depends on the length of the ceremony, whether the reception is included and any other parts added in (such as titles, photos, etc.)

Two hours would be a typical average, but the video can be as short or as long as you need it to be.

Q: Can you provide my final video on DVD?

A: Yes. Action Video has the capabilities to author pro quality DVDs with custom menus and images.

Q: Do you provide tape duplication services?

A: Yes. Action Video can duplicate to any tape format you require. Most common is VHS. We can also provide world standards conversion if you require tapes in other formats such as PAL and SECAM for playback on foreign machines.

Photo Montage/ Video Album
Q: What are the steps for creating a video album?

A: First, you will need to gather all images and music for the video album.

Next, contact Action Video to discuss what you are looking for in your video album/montage. We can then schedule an appointment. At the appointment we will discuss how many pictures the video will include; the theme of the show, music, titling and other effects; expected length of the video; final output (DVD, VHS or another tape format); and turnaround time.

We then ask that you provide us with the images you would like included in your video album. Most clients provide us with photographs; but if you already have your images digitized, we recommend JPEG's, Tiffs or PSD files. The montage will then be put together according to specifications discussed. When the video album is complete, we will ask you to review it and let us know if any changes need to be made. Once the video album is approved, we will then duplicate and package your album.

Q: How do I send my pictures to you?

A: Photos can be sent in their original format by shipping them to us (FedEx, UPS, etc) or by personally dropping them off to us so that we can digitize them for use in your Photo Montage. Pictures can also be sent to us in digital format by burning them to CD-R and shipping to us or dropping them off. Or the photos can be zipped or stuffed and emailed to us (Total compressed file size is limited to 2 megabytes or less per transfer!) JPEGs, TIFFs or PSD files are recommended.

Q: Can I use my own music for my Video Album?

A: Yes. You can fully customize your Photo Montage/ Video Album, including choosing all the music you want to go into it and where it should be used in the video.

Q: Can you provide my final video on DVD?

A: Yes. Action Video can provide custom authored DVDs with or without menus for your Photo Montage.

Q: I have an idea for my video that I haven't seen in any of the samples. Can you incorporate my ideas into my album to make it fit my occasion?

A: Yes. You are able to customize virtually every aspect of your Photo Montage. Action Video specialists can work with you to incorporate most any idea or design you may have.
